Amanda Mason, is a reporter for 23 ABC in Bakersfield, CA. Summer of 2018, she was a reporter and anchor for Cronkite News for AZ PBS in Phoenix, AZ. Spring 2018, she interned at Arizona's Family (3TV/CBS 5 News) duopoly newsroom and created a brand strategy for the station's Instagram. Summer of 2017, she interned with Arizona PBS "Arizona Horizon" hosted by Emmy-winning Host Ted Simons. For the past 9 years she lived in New York City.
August 2018 she graduated magna cum laude with a Master Degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from ASU Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Amanda also worked with Feld Entertainment as a Live/On-Camera Host for Monster Jam: Triple Threat Series East Tour. This past Spring she performed in 45 Live Shows and 23 Private Pit Parties in 15 Different Cities.
Her love for Broadcasting and Reporting, started in Robinson High School, when she Anchored, Wrote and Produced the Knights Morning Show. That same year, she was also Editor-in-Chief of her high school Newspaper Knight Writer. As Miss New York 2013, she continued appearing on camera and has been featured on PBS, NY1, NBC The Today Show, Brooklyn News 12, to name a few.
Amanda is well-rounded and has an extensive background in musical theater and opera. In 2015 received her Masters in Music degree from the Internationally Renowned Conservatory, Manhattan School of Music for Classical Vocal Performance. She uses her performerance background to continue as a professional news storyteller. The Summer of 2016, Amanda was nominated for Planet Connections NYC Festival "Outstanding Lead Actress in A Musical or Play with Music" Award for her role in The Golden Smile. She has performed at Carnegie Hall, UN Headquarters, NYC Marathon, Las Vegas Canyon Club and many other prestigious events. She is proud to have sung the National Anthem for: New York Yankees, Tampa Bay Rays, Brooklyn Nets, Brooklyn Cyclones and Tampa Bay Lightning.
She is a Youth Advocate, National Ambassador for Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Motivational Speaker. For the past 14 years, she has focused on Reaching Youth Before Alcohol & Drugs Do through her prevention program The Middle School Movement as a professional speaker. She has reached over 10,000 students, teachers and parents in person through her program. Amanda continues to work with our next generation and empower them to achieve their dreams.
